1.Photo Restoration
It’s truly heartbreaking to lose a precious photo, but our skilled graphic designers can bring those cherished memories back to life. We are masters of photo restoration, using sophisticated digital repair techniques to tackle even the most extensive damage expertly.
While AI tools can provide basic touch-ups and some edits, they are limited — they lack the sensitivity and artistic judgment required to faithfully preserve a photo's details, expressions, and true essence. That’s where our human expertise makes all the difference. With the trained eye and careful attention of our restoration artists, every image receives the personal care it deserves, ensuring your memories are not only repaired but truly revived.

2. Photo Restoration and Artistic Enhancement
This beautiful underwater photo was captured by our clients while snorkeling in Hawaii. As with most underwater photography, lighting and color can be tricky — and part of her partner was accidentally cropped out of the original photo. We restored the natural brilliance of the ocean colors and skillfully recreated the missing portion of her partner, bringing the scene back to life as a truly stunning keepsake.
3. The One Thing No One Tells You
Restoring a photo is only half the job. How it’s printed determines how long it truly lasts.
Most companies focus only on the digital restoration of your old photographs. Colors corrected, creases removed, details repaired — and then the file is handed off as if the work is complete.
But almost no one talks about the most critical step:
How the restored photo is printed.
A beautifully restored image doesn’t mean much if it’s printed with short-lived materials that fade in just a few years. And unfortunately, many common printing methods simply aren’t designed for longevity.
How Long Do Different Printing Methods Really Last?
A quick guide to what most services don’t tell you.
-
Home or standard inkjet printers (dye-based inks):
Typically lasts 2–5 years before fading — sometimes faster in sunlight or humidity. -
Retail photo lab prints (RA-4 “photo process” on silver-halide paper):
Usually, 10–20 years before noticeable color shifts and fading. -
Thermal dye-sublimation prints (kiosks and consumer services):
Around 5–10 years of fade resistance. -
Laser/toner prints (color copiers):
About 10–15 years, but not stable enough for true archival preservation. -
Archival aqueous printers with true pigmented inks (museum-grade):
The gold standard: 75–200+ years, depending on paper or canvas.
UV-resistant. Water-resistant. Chemically stable. Designed for generations.
Why We Do It Differently
This overlooked printing step is where most companies cut corners —
but it’s also where the real longevity is won or lost.
At Regency Fine Art & Frame, every restored photo is printed using professional aqueous pigment-ink printers, the same technology trusted by museums and fine-art photographers. When combined with archival papers or canvas and custom framing, the result is a restored photograph designed to be passed down for generations.
Because restoring a memory is one thing…
Preserving it is another.
